Flagship Stage 2: THE SWARM

Ok so i was as far as I had ever gotten in the game right? Im in the engi ship type A and Im pumped because Im about to blow off the second part of the ship (please dont spoil anything past the second stage). I had never even fought the second stage. Well, I got its health reeaaallyy low right? And all of a sudden, it sends out like, 50 billion anti-ship drones. Im like WWWTTTTFFFFFF and I get torn up in less than 30 seconds! Ok, maybe it wasnt 50 billion, but there were atleast... idk 8? I cant remeber, it was 2 days ago.

Is this a regular thing? I mean, WTF!?! haha

Yup, thats a normal thing, but the good news, the 2nd stage is the hardest, the 3rd stage weapons ain't a biggy, but how i got past the 2nd stage was to hit him hard and fast, befor he can send those drones at me. i usally disable his Drone control (so no bording drone), and his shild to get direct hits, once you get past him, 3rd person is fairly easy if you can take down the shield fast >< (trying to not give spoilers)

I'm not sure it happened because I didn't check how many I got when jumping, but I ended the second phase during a drone swarm, and had all those powerless drones floating around my ship, and since I had the drone retrieval arm, It's pretty possible that I got ALL of them (not that useful though since I was already swimming in drone parts).

But then I save+quitted and when I resumed, I jumped right away, and for the next battles (rebel ship then final boss stage) my drones wouldn't let me depower them and were invisible (they still fired at incoming fire and the enemy though). Nor did they consume power for some reason, but that wouldn't have made a difference anyway (I later found out that I could've moved them to storage and then to drone bar again to fix it, but couldn't during fights of course).

Its actually futile, because level 1 cloak completely counters his ability. Make sure to only use a level 1 cloak too - if you use level 2 or 3, you wont be recharged in time for his second swarm. Also make sure not to use cloak to dodge his missiles like you should do in the first stage - destroy those with your boarding party before they can fire (or just eat them, no biggie really). Each stage to me is equally annoying, and if second stage is the most annoying, it would be because of boarding drones, not the power surge.
