I have rebalanced the Apparition a bit by removing the teleporter and the drone recovery arm from the starting layout.
The new version is now the one in the download link.

Edit: Also I didn't know it originally had the drone recovery arm, so yeah ignore that when you hear it from me in the game LOL

you do know you can keep the Teleporter, but lower the other things / even remove some subsystems such as doors (this will make fires a threat) or what ever.

Because this ship is pretty good for boarding... maybe you can make the drone room start at 1? unlike weapons and shields, drones still get cheap at low levels, meaning it's only 15 scrap or 10 or something like that to upgrade to level 2, this will mean not anyone can snap right into drone action (unless there on easy with there 30 starting drone)

I tried the first version and had a really hard time with it. Lost serveral times :lol: Had big problems using the drones right and boarding in together. Well, after a few tries it went better and got a nice run.
Will try the new version. I think it is the better and more unusual layout to begin with - without boarding and only the drones.

Thanks for the playthrough and the balance testing. I hope you all like it, I sure did like the video :D
For now this version seems ok to me, the crystal drones still seem over powered, but I think that can't be helped.

Sadly i was wrong with my first thoughts on the ship. I tried it - about 10 times. The best i got was sector 3. The layout is terrible against boarders and fires. The drones take for ever to kill the crew. It can´t kill automated scouts. You even can´t see - not that it matters, but it would be fun - was is happening on the enemy ship. It is a nice idea but it is so boring, frustating and annoying to play :cry:

Give him lvl 2 sensors, a basic laser and one door to vent on the right side of the ship and it could be playable. Or give me some tipps how to play this ship ;)

(Sorry for the harsh words...)

(I really consider me to be a experienced player. I´ve played about 30 Mod-Ships in the last month on hard and i think i lost with 3 of them - Borgship in the Star Trek mod and the Potential - but i can´t remember the last time i had such a losing streak)

Why not make an overpowered version, one with the drones having piercing ability, basically a version where you want to commit War Crimes LOL that or give me the Iron Blast Mark 2 at the start LOL

@LegatDamar, I think you do not know how to use the ship right (no offense!)

The drones are there mainly to support your boarding instead of being the weapon that kills.
True, it can't kill automated ships, but it is better then other ships that can't kill them in vanilla! eg Crystal type B, Mantis type B, Mantis type A if you don't get any new weapons fast. etc.

And the drones causes breaches, meaning automated ships can not repair the room that got breached.

@ Bren Tenkage, I am looking at the stats and technically 1 heavy, 1 blast is more "OP" then 1 blast 2, it is better in every way, more shots (if 1 misses you still got the other shot) ability to aim at 2 rooms instead of 1. more idps? (ion damage per second?) etc. the only thing the ion blast II would do is take up less weapon slots.

Besides that.

I can give you a quick rundown on a little nifty things about modding that can make life easier, eg adding/ removing crew, weapons, augments. Changing the ship it replaces (for those who don't have that ship unlocked), adding more hull/ ammo/ scrap. etc.

Nothing illegal about modding a mod, but if you publish it (right word? well post it on the interwebs) without the mod creators permission. Then things can happen.

When I say I'm not a programmer I mean it, I can not for the life of me mod, hell I can't even mod minecraft (I use launchers like Technic and Feed the beast) honestly I'm just giving my opinion, but you do make good points, either way had fun
