NOTE: This mod is complete. However, the ships sprite is not made by me, only slightly modified by me for use in FTL. The sprites in question are on a long-abandoned(for about 4 years) dA account and there is no trail of any recent activity newer than several months. I'm unsure on the legalities of distributing these as fair use. However, I have no response from the author so I'm putting the link in anyway

NOTE: This ship is designed to have 1 crew member. Despite being able to purchase crew, shields, teleporters and sensors, this defeats the purpose of the ship in the case of crew, and will not add the selected system in the case of shields/sensors/teleporters.

V 1.0: Upgraded doors to level 2, moved the Medbay to the Panic Room and removed Engi Medbot Dispersal
The X-Wing is a frail ship, with only half the standard hull, no shields and no way to repair systems other than with a repair drone. This means the X-Wing relies on keeping fights short and preventing unnecesary damage. Engi Medbot Dispersal provides healing even outside of the medbay, Stealth Weapons allows for improved offense during Cloak(The ONLY purchasable system. You cannot buy shields or sensors, even if the store says otherwise) and Titanium System Plating defends essential systems from going down early. Or free scrap, depending on how you see it.
The ship comes with 15 drone parts to use on Hull Repair and System Repair drones. Sooner or later, you will want a Defense Drone, preferably Mark II, to defend against larger vollies of attacks in later sectors. The ship is rather strong against boarders since it can be vented entirely, unless you are boarded in the cockpit. In that case, there is a panic room behind it. Upgrading doors is recommended.
For weaponry, the X-Wing is equiped with 2 Dual Lasers, with slots and power to spare right at the start. In terms of power, the ship holds its own rather well until it runs into 3-shielded enemies, where a simple extra bomb, missile or laser can fix that.
The X-Wing is incredibly weak against faster weapons and Beams. Drones, Heavy Laser 1 and long Beams can heavily damage the ship before it can counterattack. As the enemies gain more shields, defending against onslaughts become harder unless your weapons are upgraded. Another notable weakness are Zoltan Shields, which prevents the X-Wing from landing the first hit, and losing large ammounts of hull quickly. The X-Wing is incredibly vulnerable to Ion and Breach. Drone Control is a vital system, and if it gets destroyed, the ship will become unrepairable. The X-Wing cannot stand up against constant attack barrages, nor can it hold its own in longer fights.
To do:
-Get balance feedback and improve the ship.
-Improve main sprite and gib images
-Learn 90% of the remaining features in Superluminal
