Lost all progress iPad app

I had every ship and layout unlocked, and nearly every achievement unlocked too. I started up the app to play a round on a random ship and POOF! The app has forgotten I've ever even played!
I checked Game Center and it too seems to think I've never played.
Nothing has happened to the iPad except the sun outside set and rose again, and shazaam- no more game data. Super upset!
Is there anything I can do? I haven't done a backup in eons.
