FTL unplayable due to java runtime error

Hello all,

This morning, I decided to play FTL. It was working fine. After lunch, I tried to play it again. However, when the loading bar was full, it gave me this error:

"The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

After that, I tried uninstalling and re-installing FTL to fix it. That didn't work. I then moved to a different computer, where I got the same issue. I think it May be a thing with my steam account, but I'm not sure and I don't want to damage anything else. If anybody else has had this same issue, how did you fix it?
