Well, this is my first story, so I don't know how good it will be. Based off a mod called the Obsidian Cruiser created by Kieve. We'll just have to see how good I do.

This is Corithas, Engi pilot of The Vortex, Engi Cruiser Variant B, reporting in for my Thirty-Seventh log entry. The Vortex, during a routine patrol around the borders of Engi space, was ambushed and subsequently destroyed by four rebel fighters. The lifeboat was launched with me on board, getting away minutes before the last shot was fired to finish off my vessel. I have just now activated a distress signal and hope to see another ship soon.

I don't know how long it has been, but it's seems like ages. I have just entered an asteroid field, my distress signal still on, I hope for the best as I slow down to give time for ships to notice the signal as I travel. Perhaps this will be my last entry. I'll just have to see.

"The Reaper is inbound."

Finally! Contact with other people! I looked at the console and there were four words. "The Reaper is Inbound". That must mean someone's coming to get me.
A rumbling is heard as the log abruptly ends.
