*Note that this is WIP. I am going to replace the rest of the room images and add some more stuff as well as balancing the current one. If you see something that is buggy or similar feel free to tell me.*
Background story:
As with my last Mod (which you should check out btw) this one of the several Species I made up when I was a child. The Trêêl (actually thats one giant ^ over both e's, but I cant write that ofc) were a minor species, only there as some kind of underdog enemy to give the other species someone to beat on. But this ends here. Now its the Trêêls time to shine!
Species:
The Trêêl's homeplanet is set in one of the most populated areas in the Galaxy, which unfortunately resolved in it getting conquered by multiple other space empires who did developed the FTL way before Trêêl even had a chance to do themselves. But at one point in their history the Trêêl fought back. With guerrilla warfare and stolen Technology they managed to free their homeworld from all alien aggressors.
But sadly then began the downfall of the Trêêl. Afraid of another invasion, they started conquering neighboring systems themselves, slowly becoming what they fought before.
Today the Trêêl own a small empire in the center of the galaxy, constantly fighting to protect what they think is rightfully theirs.
The Trêêl are fanatics who see themselves still as the freedom fighters they once were and every soldier would give happily his life for the greater good of the Trêêl.
The Trêêl have been occupied for so long that theres barely anything left from their physiology. You see all kinds of people on their ships.
Technology:
The Trêêl use space-destortion-weapons as their arsenal. Nobody knows if they developed this technology themselves, or if they stole it form one of their past enemies.
Resulting from this their shield systems work also different from normal ones. They are stronger than normal ones and can take more hits before going down, but due to the nature of the Technology the Shield generators themselves are exposed and not covered by shields. Because of that Trêêl ships are all quite fast; otherwise they wouldnt stand a chance.
Weapons:
The Trêêl use a Enchant system, which can be added to any weapon, to increase the dmg of that weapon.
Laser:
-> Disruptor II: 2 shots, 1 dmg low fire, 2 power. (not available at store)
-> Enchanted Disruptor II: 2 shots, 2 dmg, med fire, 3 power.
-> Disruptor III: 3 shots, 1 dmg, med fire, 2 power.
-> Enchanted Disruptor III: 3 shots, 2 dmg, high fire, 4 power.
-> Distortion Thrower: 1 shot, 2 dmg, 2x dmg on systemless rooms, 2 power.
-> Enchanted Distortion Thrower: 1 shot, 4 dmg, 2x dmg on systemless rooms, 3 power.
Beams:
-> Enchanted Hullbeam: 2 dmg, 2x dmg on systemless rooms, 4 power.
-> Plasma Beam I: 1 dmg, 2x against crew, high fire, 2 power.
Missiles:
-> Distortion Mine Layer: 1 shot, 2 dmg, 2x on systemless rooms, 1 missile, 1 power.
-> Suicide Shuttle: 1 shot, 2 dmg, 2x on systemless rooms, 1 missile, 2 power.
Bombs:
-> Black Hole Generator: 8 dmg, high breach, 4 power.
Drones:
Trêêl are fearless fighters who are familiar with guerrilla warfare. Therefor they will even fly in small shuttles which are barely more than a gun with engines.
Attack:
-> Shuttle I: fires with a disruptor, 1 dmg, med speed, 2 power.
-> Shuttle II: attacks with a hullbeam, 1 dmg 2x on hull, med speed, 4 power.
Playable Ships:
Isolator: Replaces Zoltan A
->crew: 1 Engi, 1 Human, 1 Mantis, 1 Slug
->weapons(4 slots): Disruptor III, Distortion Thrower
->Drones (2 slots): --
->Shield: 1 Powerbar; Covers all except Shields and weapons
->Augments: zoltan shield, FTL Jammer
Strategy:
Your Weapons and your shields rooms are not protected by any shields. I recommend putting the engi into the weapons room and even put another one of your guys next to him in order to repair any incoming dmg as soon as possible. A Defense drone II might come in handy later on. Try to have some spare system power in your weapons to prevent your weapons from getting disabled.
History:
The Isolator is the Flagship of the Trêêl. It does what the name suggest: It uses its Distortion Generator to disturb all sensors and attack unnoticed a single ship within even lager Battles; isolating it from the rest of the fleet. Once a vessel is separated it's easy prey.
Assault Defender: Replaces Zoltan B
->crew: 1 Mantis, 1 Rock, 1 Crystal
->weapons(4 slots): 2 Mine Layers, 1 Plasma Beam
->Drones (2 slots): --
->Shield: 1 Powerbar; Doesnt cover Shields ,weapons, med and some other rooms
->Teleporter: 1 power.
->Augments: zoltan shield, FTL Jammer
Strategy:
The Assault Defenders weapon Layout is really weak. A mine will take 15 seconds to charge and then another ~20 sec to hit the ship. Use your teleporter to kill the crew instead, or destroy their weapons. I wont lie, this ship is really hard, even with the amount of stuff it has at the start.
History:
Assault is the best Defense, that is the Motto behind this ship type. The Trêêl never were good defenders, they prefer blowing stuff up. The Assault Defender is designed to lay mines at the borders of Trêêl space and/or boarding hostile stations and ships sabotaging them. It will do everything necessary to delay the enemy fleet's advance.
In a direct fight, the Assault defender wont stand a chance vs. a ship of similar size; it might even lose against a smaller one.
Infiltrator: Replaces Fed Cruiser A
->crew: 1 Human, 1 Mantis, 1 Rock
->weapons(4 slots): Hullbeam, Disruptor II
->Drones (2 slots): --
->Shield: 1 Powerbar; Doesnt cover Shields ,weapons, doors and some other rooms
->cloaking: 1 power.
->Augments: zoltan shield, FTL Jammer
Strategy:
As all Trêêl ships you'll need to look after your uncovered rooms. This ship has more, so you have to use your cloak to prevent damage. I find that upgrading the shields is not as useful as upgrading cloaking and weapons. Your starting weapons will not get through 3 shield; upgrade before sector 3.
History:
The Trêêl have no "traditional" cloaking system; but they did develop a Technology that has similar effects even thou the method is totally different. A really strong Distortion Generator bends space around the ship and disconnects it partial from reality. As the ship is fading out of existing, other ships will no longer be able to see it aside from some warping and bending stars. Strafe Shots might still hit the ship, since unlike the Trêêl shields, the cloaking Distortion is not an impenetrable Anomaly.
The Infiltrator uses this cloaking system to enter enemy space undetected and cause havoc behind the enemy lines.
Infiltrator: Replaces Fed Cruiser B
->crew: 1 Human, 1 Zoltan, 1 Engi
->weapons(4 slots): Suicide Shuttle
->Drones (3 slots): Treel shuttle I+II, def I
->Shield: 1 Powerbar; Doesnt cover most rooms
->cloaking: none.
->Artillery Beam: 2 power.
->Augments: zoltan shield, FTL Jammer
Strategy:
This ship has nearly every system installed except teleporters. Cloaking will not be available to buy on this ship, so you have to play without. The majority of rooms is not covered by shields, but you start with a def drone I. You should get a Def II until the end. This is probably the hardest ship of the Trêêl cause you cant target the weapons directly and have to wait for your long cooldown missile and art beam.
History:
The Trêêl see themselves still as some kind of Freedom fighters who defend their homeplanet. For that reason they will fight obliviously to danger for their own live. They will even happily give their lives in order to protect their people and their sovereignty.
The Resistance Breaker is a carrier class ship which can send out multiple small fighter-shuttles which will attack the enemy ships. It's only weapon is a experimental Graviton-Beam that will break through all shields. This ship might not be the best armed one, but its fanatic crew makes up for that.
