Daedalus and Prometheus

Fanfare and all that.Here they are, Earth's finest battlecruisers. For once I didn't make special weapon models, since I couldn't think of any, but the Daedalus comes packaged with a F-302 missile drone. It doesn't start with it, since it uses a prohibitive four power bars, but it will show up in shops and events. And the Daedalus does come with the Asgard Plasma Beam. It uses the mini beam model and is...kind of hilariously overpowered. It bypasses all shields and deals three damage, and since it is a beam it never misses. The charge up is pretty long and it is incredibly short though, to make up for that. I think the length is like three pixels, off the top of my head. The Daedalus also starts with no door controls to make up for starting with a teleporter. It replaces the Kestrel B.

The Prometheus on the other hand, well, it just starts with an Artemis and a Breach launcher and it has a pretty inefficient design, in my opinion anyway. All on purpose- it's Earth's first ship after all, and should have some drawbacks. It replaces the Kestrel.

A very nice looking craft! Haven't tried out yet, but overall I think you done a good job making a graphic that fits the game and also the custom weapons!

Just tried, it's quite good but needs a shield texture and a Door System in the layout. But anyway, good work

Odd that the shields aren't showing up. They appear for me, and it does have its own custom sized shield image so it's not relying on outside resources. I checked the code and I don't think I spotted anything that was off.

As for the door control, I left it out on purpose. I don't like starting ships with too many systems and since the teleporter is an integral part of the Daedalus I thought that was more important.

Ok there's a MAJOR issue here... Name what place Daedalus and Prometheus have in VIKING mythology? Prometheus was an immortal who gave mortals fire and Daedalus made the Labyrinth... Really, I hope you didn't actually believe they were Viking...

These ships are from a television show, Stargate SG1. They were named by the creators of the show.

In the show, there is a race called the Asgard. Viking mythology is based on memories of when they were active on our planet thousands of years ago. They are (in the show) our allies today and give us technology to mount on our ships.

So the "Asgard Beam" weapon is very correctly named.

Uh yeah, I've never seen Stargate, I mean the only major Sci-Fi series I've ever seen is Star Wars, I only know a few things bout Star Trek, Dr. Who I respect but trying to dive into that series might not be good for my sanity, Stargate, yeah can't get into that and so on.
