I have a friend who chews through Science Fiction TV and movies like candy, who hates SG1. To each their own. But you should at least give it a shot.
Actually I give that advice for everything. Spend a few hours watching 4-8 episodes and see if it's your thing. If not, move on. If so, you've just introduced yourself to something new!

Actually it will require more than 4-8 episodes, it will require about a season and a half, or maybe two (the show improves in the second - third season, and decays in the 8th season..).
I always loved SG1 cuz he was a good mix between sci fiction, humor, charismatic characters and great episodes with good stories. SG1 must ended on the 7th season, the last 3 seasons are really bad compared with the rest of the show. But still, its science fiction so some will like it , some will not.

For once I didn't make special weapon models, since I couldn't think of any, but the Daedalus comes packaged with a F-302 missile drone. It doesn't start with it, since it uses a prohibitive four power bars, but it will show up in shops and events. And the Daedalus does come with the Asgard Plasma Beam. It uses the mini beam model and is...kind of hilariously overpowered. It bypasses all shields and deals three damage, and since it is a beam it never misses. The charge up is pretty long and it is incredibly short though, to make up for that. I think the length is like three pixels, off the top of my head. The Daedalus also starts with no door controls to make up for starting with a teleporter. It replaces the Kestrel B.
The Prometheus on the other hand, well, it just starts with an Artemis and a Breach launcher and it has a pretty inefficient design, in my opinion anyway. All on purpose- it's Earth's first ship after all, and should have some drawbacks. It replaces the Kestrel.

Thanks for making this mod! I've been watching Stargate forever, and always wanted to play Deadalus in FTL.

Frankly, I think the Asgard beam would be more appropriate if you made a super-powerful projectile that looked like the beam. FTL beam weapons are simply incompatible with Stargate beams.
However, partial shield bypassing may be required, as all projectiles deal only 1 damage to shields.

Re: Daedalus and Prometheus
How about an Asgard Beam that does 1x damage with ultra-tiny distance beam(if possible only 1 room to hit, and if possible doing 1 shield damage), but with really tiny cooldown (1,5s)(the Season 10 Episode 20 Two "Asgard Energy Weapons", edit: or maybe they are 4 with 3s cooldown/recharge each). Maybe since they are "Asgard Upgrades", they could be found at late shops or extremly rare, or if possible both, because i think 1 damage per 0,75 seconds would be a bit too op.

That will be a really op beam. And btw you will need to shrink the beam lenght until 5-10 (1/4 of a room) to make the beam not op. Still a beam that recharges every 1-3 s is still op, even if you erase the 1 shield piercing capability. Imagine u have an ion weapon that hits the enemy shield systems and u can use that beam. The enemy ship will be almost destroyed even before the ion effect ends.
