Ion beam is back! Does now only system damage.

->Added 2 new weapons: Ion Beam, Ion Laser type Beta (only buyable at stores)

-> Ion Lasers type Alpha need now 3 power

-> Changed weapon layout for Alpha Terminator

-> changed Ion Laser images and animations (slightly)

-> Boarding droid has a better weapon shot.

I am working on the repair drone next.

You should add a laser that pierces shields, does lockdown and starts fires or breaches hull :)

That's not hard to do... but what would be the point?

-> added the Repair drone images.

-> removed 1 ion laser from the Alpha ship

-> Neutron Missiles only need one missile now

-> Rock plating is called Superior Armor now and gives 25 % chance.

-> Corrected Dronespeedboost augment description where it said it gives 50% speed, but in the xmls it was 0.25

-> Updated Images in Mainpost.

That is wat i used to know back in the days, but lasers that pierces shields are non-sense, since missiles are the weapons that are used to pierce shields. I mean, if u are going to waste a missile ammunition, do it for a weapon that pierces shields. If u have a laser that pierces shields, u will never use missile type weapons..

Good job meztelmax, i like your ships, sadly i cant test em, since i have my full wip-mod installed all the time and i already have some other mods installed and its a bit of a mess there.

But as i said in other post, i dunno if u know that ion beams doesnt work as they should , i dunno if with very low ion damage (max 1) they work as intended, but if u put more than 1 ion damage, thre results are catastrhopic..

One thing, how did u change the boarding drone graphic?? i thought that was hard-coded , on wat folder are the images within??

The boarding drones are weird. They take pictures from 3 files: battle_sheet.png, battle_player.png, enemy_battle_sheet.png in the people folder.

From battle_sheet it only takes the power up/ power down animation and uses that for your drones aswell as for the enemy drones. Also the icons of the drone are from this one.

Battle-player are your drones in action and battle_enemy are the enemy drones in action.

Anti person and Boarding drones do share the same images thou.

You can change those images and make them look different that way. You can not change the animation source in the xml to another png. Since there it only has the battle_sheet you would only change the power up animation, but not the rest.

But you can change the animations that are there already. What you might need to.

This animation actually uses the walking animation and not the real shooting animation in the png (shooting has only 3 pics: slightly up, slightly down, and straight left).

All in all moding the board drones is unsatisfying. In my mod the enemy drones look still normal (since only you have the awesome new drones) but then again, if you shoot down their drone control, their drones power down with the new animation, which annoys me everytime I see it.

Final version is up!

Final changes:

-> Ion Laser A now uses only 2 power, but cant pierce shields anymore.

-> Added another weapon buyable at the shops later on: Neutron bomb.

-> Gibs and cloak for Beta are added.


So that's all I wanted to do with this mod. If you people find it needs change in points of balance or something I might change things later on.

FTL 2: Even More Faster Than Light came out today! Wow, am I excited! All the new stuff they put into that game. Amazing!
